*If you didn’t know where you were sleeping tonight would it be easy to get through your day?
*Would you have stayed in school if there was no-one who made you go or cared if you went?
*Have you ever gone 3 or more days without a shower or a change of clothes?
*Ever lived in an abusive situation?
This is what some teens in OUR communities are facing on a daily basis. They have found themselves without a home or family for a variety of reasons and are desperately trying to make it on their own. They need our help!
T.H.U.G life was created out of love, simple and basic. We are taught (or should have been) to love others as God has loved us/One should treat others as one would like others to treat oneself. We need to be there for these kids, they need to know love, how else do they grow up showing love to others?
Our short term goals are to help the teens that contact us on an individual basis, with meals, clothing, basic needs, rides, support and anything else we can.
Our midterm goals are to purchase a property and create a place where these kids can live and grow and call home. We will help keep them in school and go on to college, trade school or training in the field of their interest. Our plan is to include animal rescue as part of our organization as sometimes these kids feel unwanted, unloved, and thrown away the same way homeless pets feel. By including animal care in our program it will help the healing process, when someone who feels unloved/unwanted can help an animal that is unloved or unwanted a bond is formed, which is the first step to love and trust.
“A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” (NIV, John 13:34-35)
